2 1/2 cups flour Topping:
1 teaspoon baking powder 1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup butter, softed
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon freshly grated lemon rind
2 large eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 cup pitted and halved fresh Bing Cherry HIll cherries
1/2 cup walnuts
1/2 teaspoon cinamon
2 tablespoons sugar
Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour a 9-inch tube baking pan.
MIx flour, baking powder and baking soda in a medium bowl.
Beat boutter and 1 1/4 cups of sugar in a large bowl until creamy. Beat in vailla and lemon rind. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Gradually beat in flour mixture alternately with sour cream until well blended.
Mix your Cherry HIll cherries, walnut, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 2 tablespoon sugar in a small bowl.
Topping: Mix topping ingreddients in a cup.
Spoon a third of the batter into prepared baking pan. Sprinkle with half of the cherry HIll mixture. Repeat layers ending with batter. Sprinkle with topping. Bake about 1 hour or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes in pan before removing to wire rack.
